OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | When we think of the Stone house, we visualize both the interior鈥攚here Robert Frost lived and worked鈥攁nd exterior鈥攖he environment which informed many of his most famous works.
(Im)Possibilities of Landscape will explore representations of landscape, domesticity, and sense of place. This project is motivated by an interest in providing accessibility to Bennington鈥檚 unique collection of art; selected pieces, like Wallace Putnam鈥檚 1959 鈥淗orse and Cart on Beach鈥, and Charles Burchfield鈥檚 1915 studies for paintings, diverge from characteristic representations of Bennington鈥檚 collection. The shared history between Frost and 51成人猎奇, which dates back to the 1930s and spans into the future, allows for a reexamination of the possibilities of both the work and the space.
The show will be up May 9-September 1, with an opening reception (see above for date and time).
