2022: A Year in Books
In 2022, undergraduate and Bennington Writing Seminars alumni and faculty published over 50 books. Their writing spanned a wide range of genres from nonfiction essays, memoirs, and biographies, to novels, poetry, young adult literature, and short stories.

2023: A Preview
In 2023, along with welcoming a new class of Bennington undergraduates and Bennington Writing Seminars students—and the many works they will pen—the College is eagerly anticipating a robust lineup of 2023 publications, including:
- The Shards, a new novel by Bret Easton Ellis ’86, will be published in January.
- Bennington Writing Seminars faculty Katy Simpson Smith MFA ‘13 will publish her new novel, in April.
- April Bernard, Writing Seminars faculty, will publish a new poetry collection, The World Behind the World in March.

Steeped in the 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæâ€™s literary legacy, Bennington Writing Seminars is consistently named one of the top low-residency Masters of Fine Arts in Writing programs. During this two-year, low-residency program, students commit as much to reading as to writing and conceive reading lists that strengthen and broaden their knowledge. Students perform critical literary analysis and craft bold new works of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry inspired by their discoveries.
