Welcome to B-Rad! Bennington debuts new radio station.
The station started with a class in the Fall 2016 term, , taught by Thom Loubet. The class was based on the idea of researching every aspect of what it would take to start a radio station, in terms of cost, licensing, and governance.
"The students participated in each step of the process," Loubet said, "they wrote extensive by-laws, and community standards; they held elections for the student board (which is comprised of two station managers, a talk rep, a music rep, a business manager, and a public relations manager) and selected a community advisory board of faculty staff and community members to advise."
The station went live April 1 and now runs 24-hours a day.
