Ashley D. Escobar 鈥22 is a dynamic writer and filmmaker with a unique literary voice. Born and raised in San Francisco, Ashley鈥檚 debut poetry collection GLIB (Changes, 2025), selected by Eileen Myles for the 2024 Changes Book Prize, is the latest testament to her bold creative vision. Her debut chapbook SOMETIMES was published in 2021, and her writing has appeared in prestigious publications such as The London Magazine, The Drift, and Hobart.
Lilia Mead 鈥92 is pioneering in her role as a divorce doula, helping individuals navigate the emotional and practical complexities of the end of their marriages. In addition to her personal experience of transforming her own divorce journey into one of freedom, clarity, and purpose, Lilia is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), yoga instructor, and mindfulness coach who studied dance and psychology as a Bennington student.
Catherine Hamilton MFA 鈥01 is an accomplished artist, educator, and lifelong bird enthusiast. Her work has graced the pages of prominent publications like Nature and Orion Magazine, and she has exhibited her fine art both nationally and internationally.

Artist Lulu Wiley 鈥24 used a great work ethic, a strong sense of self, and Bennington connections to land their first solo exhibition at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vermont. It opened February 13 and runs through June 22. We caught up with them to discuss and celebrate.

As a homage to Dylan Thuras 鈥04鈥檚 Atlas Obscura, we鈥檙e sharing seven of the website鈥檚 wondrous Bennington-area places. You will barely be able to resist using the map for a spooky road trip this fall.

They joined panelists Pulitzer Prize Winner Jericho Brown, the MacArthur Award-winning novelist Jonathan Lethem 鈥86, celebrated poet Camille Rankine, and moderator and Bennington faculty member Benjamin Anastas to learn about the life and work of Queer Black poet and essayist Reginald Shepherd 鈥88, an underrecognized member of the Bennington literary community in the eighties.
