Course Description
Summary
For students of all disciplines, this course will include weekly screenings of dance on film. We will be looking at a wide variety of dance, from The Ballets Russes to early Modern Dance at Bennington to Postmodern Dance, nationally and internationally. We will also utilize the library collection of dance films from cultures around the world, to examine the diverse styles and sources of movement in all populations. Students will be expected to write about what they are viewing, and place the content of the films within an historical context.Prerequisites
