Course Description
Summary
Phenomenology is the philosophical study of the structures of human experience, whereas existentialism is the study of human existence. These two movements intersect and overlap in the history of philosophy. This course undertakes a survey of these movements and their central concepts as they are found in the writings of such thinkers as Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, Camus, Marcel, Merleau-Ponty, and others.Prerequisites
