Course Description
Summary
For students with previous experience in voice. Physiology and healthy vocal production will be discussed. Group warm-ups and vocalizations will develop breath control, resonance, projection, range, color, and agility. Fundamental concepts of singing, including personalization of text and emotional expression, will be explored in the preparation of specific song assignments to be performed for the class, while reinforcing music literacy and ear training. Traditional vocal repertoire will be studied and performed to strengthen technique before moving on to contemporary styles. Students will have half-hour repertory sessions every other week with an accompanist. Must have previous voice experience and/or study, and some music literacy. Corequisite: Must participate in Music Workshop (Tuesday, 6:30-8pm).Prerequisites
