Course Description
Summary
In this course, students will examine specific visual art representations of everyday life in French-speaking contexts as well as the realities they address, with a focus on race and gender issues. Through the reading of a variety of images – postcards, film opening sequences, statues, installations, memorials, and virtual reality experiments – students will hone their linguistic skills and enrich their understanding of the economic, social, geographical, historical and artistic realities of various French-speaking societies. Written assignments, conversation practice, and oral presentations will help students develop aural and speaking skills, fine-tune their French grammar and expand their vocabulary, as well as deepen their critical skills. Intermediate-low level. Conducted in French.Prerequisites
