Advanced Workshop in Photographic Practice
PHO4250.02
Course Description
Summary
This course meets the second seven weeks of the term and supports advanced students who are working primarily with photography as they pursue self-directed projects. Regular group discussion will challenge, complicate, clarify and deepen students understanding of their work in progress as they resolve its production both formally and conceptually. We will examine specific opportunities for exhibition and students will learn to make purposeful and critical decisions that will support both current and future projects. In addition to studio work, course members will spend time writing about their art making practices and developing a broader sense of relevant historical and contemporary context.Prerequisites
Two 4000-level photo courses and permission of instructor.
